How Art Pro behaves in thin coats

Art Pro is designed as a self-levelling surface coating rather than a deep-casting resin. For thin decorative finishes, the practical working range starts at 1.5 mm, which is enough to form a smooth, transparent layer over a prepared floor or decorative base. Cure time is typically 12–24 hours, and the dense formula helps reduce dripping on edges while still settling into an even film.

Because it cures clear, it is often used as a final touch coating over artwork, pigment work or 3D floor details. The surface is scratch-resistant and includes UV protection to help keep the finish from yellowing in ordinary indoor conditions.

Thin layers under 0.5 cm: what to check

0.5 cm is the same as 5 mm. For that target, Art Pro is suitable as long as you stay at or above the 1.5 mm minimum. Going below 1.5 mm is not recommended for this product, and very thin passes may not have enough body to self-level reliably over a full floor.

• Measure the mixed volume for the area so the wet film stays within 1.5–5 mm.
• Make sure the substrate is clean, dry and prepared before pouring.
• Work in a controlled temperature range to help the resin flow and cure evenly.

When this matters for a blue 3D bathroom floor

A blue 3D floor often relies on clear resin to create depth over a printed or pigmented base. If the top layer is too thin, it may not protect the artwork or sit level; too thick, and it can alter the feel and add unnecessary weight. Art Pro’s 1.5 mm minimum gives a useful target for that protective clear film.

If the bathroom floor is expected to take heavy foot traffic or repeated moisture exposure, a polyurethane coating may be more suitable for the final wearing layer. In that case, the Prolux PU coating is designed for high-traffic and damp surfaces.
