Natural materials such as dried flowers, paper, and fabric tend to absorb moisture or air. When you pour resin over them, trapped air can escape into the resin and form bubbles. These bubbles may rise to the surface or become trapped, affecting clarity and overall appearance. Preventing this is much easier than trying to remove bubbles afterwards.

How to Seal Porous Inclusions

To prepare porous inclusions, lightly coat them with a suitable sealer such as clear-drying glue, acrylic spray, or diluted PVA. Make sure each side is evenly covered and allow to dry completely before embedding in resin. For delicate or three-dimensional objects, consider dipping them in resin and letting them set before your main casting. This seals the surface and locks in air, reducing the risk of bubbles during your main pour.
