A seamless, non-drip post-print coating is a thin epoxy layer applied over 3D printed parts to hide visible layer lines and produce a smoother, glossier surface. A fast-curing formulation can become handleable in around four hours at 20°C, allowing detailed prints to be coated, polished, or painted without losing fine features.

Although 3D printed parts can look unfinished straight from the printer, the right coating helps smooth out the surface without heavy sanding. The result is a cleaner finish that supports both decorative and functional work.

Application and curing basics

Mix resin and hardener at around 100:50 by weight, or 100:45 by volume.
Mix thoroughly for about two minutes to avoid soft or tacky spots.
Apply in thin, controlled layers to maintain a non-drip finish.
Allow about four hours at 20°C for initial curing before handling.
