How to Use Translucent Liquid Silicone for Mould Making

• Surface Preparation: Ensure your object and formwork are clean and non-porous for the best results.
• Mixing: Combine the two components in an even 1:1 ratio, mixing thoroughly until homogeneous.
• Pouring: Gently pour the mixture to minimise air bubbles and take advantage of the silicone’s flow to capture delicate details.
• Curing: Allow the mould to cure completely—often within a few hours—before demoulding. Translucency is especially useful for inspecting for trapped air or misalignment.

Once cured, the mould can be used to cast wax, resins, plaster, or cement. The non-stick nature often eliminates the need for a release agent with many materials.
