FAQ
General
What types of resins do you offer for flooring?
We offer resins for industrial floors on a cement base, colored self-leveling floors, garage floors, pebble draining floors, and tile coatings.
What are the advantages of resins compared to other flooring materials?
Resins offer high wear resistance, easy maintenance, durability, waterproofing, and customizable aesthetics.
Are specific climatic conditions required for resin application?
Yes, the application of resins requires specific climatic conditions to ensure proper adhesion and solidification. It is preferable to avoid temperatures that are too low or too high, as well as high humidity.
Pebble Draining Floors
A drainage floor is a surface designed to allow water (rainwater and otherwise) to pass through it, preventing stagnation and reducing the risk of flooding. It is made of a special mixture of gravel and resin, which allows optimal dispersion of water flow to the subsoil.
What are the advantages of a drainage floor?
- Pleasant and customizable aesthetics
- Very low application costs
- Excellent water drainage
- Weather and frost resistance
- Non-slip surface
- Low maintenance
- DIY possibility
- Greater durability compared to traditional floors in areas with frequent precipitation
In which environments is it advisable to install a drainage floor?
- Outdoor areas subject to frequent rain
- Parking lots and driveways
- Gardens and courtyards
- Pedestrian and bicycle paths
- Public spaces such as squares and parks
- Common areas such as terraces and squares
What materials are used to make a drainage floor?
- Epoxy primer
- Selected washed and dried gravel
- Epoxy binder
How long does it take for a complete application?
The application is extremely fast: if applied in the morning (with at least 20°C), it will be walkable for light traffic after about 12 hours. Maximum hardness (drivability) is achieved after about 36-48 hours (depending on ambient temperature). With high temperatures, these times are significantly reduced, speeding up the hardening process.
How is a drainage floor installed?
- Preparation of the existing substrate with epoxy primer and quartz sand
- Placement of drainage material (mixture of gravel and resin)
- Compaction and leveling of the floor
- Sealing or surface treatment, if necessary
What maintenance is required for a drainage floor?
The drainage floor is very resistant and does not require special care different from any other outdoor floor
What is the lifespan of a drainage floor?
The lifespan depends on several factors, but generally, it can last for decades with proper care.
Are drainage floors environmentally friendly?
Yes, they help manage rainwater more sustainably, reduce the risk of flooding, and can contribute to recharging aquifers.
What are the costs associated with installing a drainage floor?
The costs are generally very low and vary depending on the selected square meters and site conditions. The price for the ResinPro cycle starts at £19.90/sqm. Contact our technical support for a personalized quote.
Are drainage floors suitable for cold climates?
Yes, but it is important that the installation is done correctly.
Can I install the drainage floor myself?
Certainly, the application is simple and quick, does not require specific skills. For large surfaces, it is recommended to use a concrete mixer to facilitate the mixing work between gravel and resin
Is installation service provided?
Currently, no, ResinPro only sells the material, which will be delivered to your home. You can contact a trusted construction company and put them in touch with us for technical assistance
Are drainage floors suitable for high traffic areas?
Yes, gravel and resin drainage floors are durable and suitable for pedestrian areas, driveways, and parking lots, provided appropriate materials and installation techniques are used
Can it be applied on dirt ground?
Yes, it is possible. For light traffic, a layer of 2 cm is sufficient. For heavy vehicles, a cement base of at least 7-8 cm or the application of a grass protection grid with a thicker mixture is recommended. Do you have doubts? Ask us how to do it!
What is the best time to apply the drainage flooring?
The resin catalyzes under various conditions. The minimum recommended temperature is 10°C the maximum 40°C. In high temperature conditions, catalyzation times are reduced.
How long does it take for the application?
Your application will be ready in less than 24 hours. A person without experience can apply about 5 sqm per hour, including preparation. The more applicators involved, the shorter the processing times.
What happens if the floor breaks?
If breaks occur, just apply a new coat of resin or a new mixture to make the floor like new again
What should I be concerned about during the application?
- Correct resin dosage
- Dry surfaces, as moisture and wet surfaces are enemies of the resin.
Can I use gravel or stones I have at home?
Yes, but they must be washed and dried to avoid resin hardening issues and aesthetic defects
What do I receive at home after placing an order?
Depending on the quantity ordered, you will receive a pallet or a small pallet with all the ready-to-use material
I am afraid of not knowing how to apply the floor, what can I do?
Don’t worry, ResinPro offers telematic and video assistance. The application is simple, you just need to mix the resin and gravel well.
