Creating stunning resin tables, river pours or large cast pieces often requires pouring resin to significant thicknesses. Not all epoxy resins are suitable for these deep applications, making it important to select the right formulation.

These formulations are crafted with a very low exothermic reaction and slow curing to prevent issues associated with thick pours. Features typically include:

- Strong UV filters for a clearer, long-lasting finish
- Extended working and curing time to allow gradual setting
- Heat resistance once cured
Practical Tips for Deep Castings
When working with deep pour resin, always meticulously measure resin and hardener according to the specific ratio given in the product instructions. Use a mould capable of withstanding the pressure and heat over potentially several hours. Ensure consistent ambient temperature for optimal curing. If your project edges towards the upper thickness limit, patience is key—allow full setting time to avoid surface imperfections or interior softness.
When This Matters Most
Using a resin formulated for deep pours is critical when casting tables, large sculptures, or items with a single-pour thickness surpassing 5cm. Attempting these with standard resin often leads to disappointment or wasted materials.
