If your resin pot has developed a leak, there’s often no need to craft an entirely new mould. With the right repair products, most leaks can be stopped quickly and effectively.

Repairing Small Leaks and Cracks

Minor leaks are usually caused by hairline cracks or imperfect joints. For a quick and durable repair, apply a two-component fast epoxy glue such as “Klebfix” Fast Epoxy Glue. This type of adhesive forms a waterproof and heat-resistant seal that bonds to a range of surfaces, including plastic, metal, or glass. Apply according to the instructions and allow it to set for at least a few minutes before using your pot again.

Using Silicone Putty for Flexible Sealing

Silicone putty is ideal for fixing leaks along irregular edges or seams where flexibility is needed. Products such as “I–Gum” Non-Toxic Silicone Putty can be pressed into gaps to provide a reliable and non-toxic seal. Mix and apply the putty as described, ensuring it fills all voids. Once set, the silicone putty will flex with temperature changes and handling, helping prevent future leaks.

When a Quick Fix Matters

Repairing leaks with adhesives or silicone is especially useful for preserving custom-crafted pots or expensive moulds where replacement would be costly or time-consuming. Quick repairs also minimise downtime between resin projects.
