Essential Storage Advice for Cold Weather

For best results, keep unmixed epoxy resin at stable room temperatures, ideally between 15–25°C. Avoid leaving your resin in unheated sheds, garages, or directly against cold floors and walls where temperatures can dip significantly. If indoor storage space is an issue, try to keep the resin in a cupboard shielded from draughts, or use insulated containers to buffer against extreme cold.

Dealing With Thickened Resin

Exposure to low temperatures can temporarily thicken unmixed epoxy. If your resin has become viscous or cloudy, there’s usually no need to worry. Simply allow it to gradually return to room temperature before use. Never try to speed up this process with direct heat such as a radiator or microwave. Instead, let the sealed bottles sit in a warm room, or place them in a bowl of lukewarm water to gently restore proper flow. This approach helps maintain clarity and mixing performance.

When Winter Storage Matters Most
