← Back to How to recover a resin table?

Applying a new coat of epoxy resin is a reliable way to refresh and recover the appearance of your resin table. Understanding how long this fresh layer will take to dry is key to achieving a flawless and durable result.
Typical Drying and Curing Times
Most epoxy resins used for recoating tables require around 24 to 72 hours to harden to the touch. The actual time needed depends mainly on the resin type and the thickness of your poured layer. Thicker coatings may take longer, so always check the instructions for the specific product you are using, such as EpoxyTable 5-Five or clear resins like Trasparente.

Tips for Fast, Even Drying
- Temperature: Keep the workspace at a steady room temperature, ideally 18–25°C, for reliable curing.
- Layer Thickness: Apply resin in thin, even coats (no more than recommended per product) to prevent surface imperfections and avoid overlong drying times.
- Ventilation: Good airflow helps the resin cure evenly and minimises odours.
Patience is essential—avoid touching or moving your table until the top layer is firm to the touch.
When this Matters: Planning for Recoating or Use
Give your table at least 24 hours before light handling, and ideally allow up to 72 hours before placing any objects on the surface or applying further coats. For deep pours or thicker protective layers, check whether your resin—such as those included in the River-Table Kit—specifies additional curing time for best results.
