Step 1: Prepare Your Workspace and Safety Gear

Begin by selecting a clean, well-ventilated workspace. Work atop a protected or disposable surface to catch any drips or excess adhesive. Always wear gloves and safety glasses when handling resin cartridges. Epoxy glues can be irritating to skin and eyes, making personal protection essential. Ensure your cartridge, mixer nozzle, and dispensing gun are within easy reach before you begin.

Step 2: Fit the Mixer Nozzle to the Cartridge

Remove the cap or seal from your epoxy cartridge as per the manufacturer’s instructions. Push and twist to securely attach it, ensuring a tight fit. For best results, use a compatible mixer nozzle designed for your cartridge type. Step 3: Dispense and Mix the Resin

This ensures any unmixed resin at the tip is expelled. Discard the initial output—only start your project once an even, well-mixed resin flows through the nozzle.

Step 4: Finish and Clean Up

Allow the adhesive to cure according to the manufacturer’s guidelines. Remove and dispose of the used mixer nozzle and cartridge as directed, as the nozzle is intended for single use only. Clean any spills promptly and store remaining cartridges upright in a cool, dry place for future use. Return tools to storage and wash your hands thoroughly after handling resin products.

Tips and Common Mistakes

Check that the cartridge and mixer nozzle are both compatible before starting. If the mix appears uneven or runny, adjust your dispensing pressure—excess force can cause poor mixing. Always use a new mixer nozzle for each application, as cured resin can block flow. If adhesive emerges in distinct colours, stop immediately and refit the nozzle.
