Creating a resin table is an exciting project, but one of the most important first steps is making the right formwork. Formwork sets the shape of your table and keeps resin where it belongs, so planning it properly is crucial.

Why Formwork Is Essential

Formwork acts as a crucial barrier that contains the liquid resin as it cures, ensuring your final table keeps its desired form. Without proper formwork, resin can leak out, causing uneven surfaces or even complete loss of your workpiece. If you’re aiming for crisp edges or unique shapes, a well-built mould is absolutely necessary.

Choosing Materials and Release Methods

Resin can stick firmly to many surfaces, so use non-stick materials such as melamine-faced boards or cover the inside of your formwork with a release film. Adding a release agent or even a layer of clear packaging tape can also make removing the table easier once the resin cures. Practical Assembly and Pouring Tips

Always double-check that your formwork is level to avoid uneven resin depths.
Seal every join thoroughly so the resin cannot escape or seep underneath.
