Accurate Measuring and Mixing

For every batch, take care to measure the resin and hardener precisely. Even small inaccuracies are magnified at larger scales, potentially causing tackiness or slow curing. Once combined, mix steadily, scraping the sides and bottom of your container to ensure a uniform blend. Incomplete mixing leaves pockets of uncured resin that may ruin your whole piece.

If you need a straightforward resin suitable for large or repeated projects, consider using “Icrystal” clear epoxy resin, which is easy to work with thanks to its simple 2:1 mixing ratio.

Environmental Control

Keep your workspace dry and at a stable, moderate temperature. Sudden changes in humidity or temperature can introduce bubbles and affect curing. Bulk pours in particular can be sensitive to heat, so avoid working in direct sunlight and allow adequate ventilation. Avoid pouring resin thicker than its recommended single layer – for example, up to 1.5cm for “Icrystal” or up to 5cm for “EpoxyTable 5-Five” – to prevent overheating.

Minimising Waste and Maximising Results

Plan your project to mix only what you need for each stage. Use clean containers and appropriate tools to transfer resin efficiently. If colourants or effects are required, prepare them in smaller amounts first to test compatibility. For deep or large pieces, work in layers, letting each cure fully before adding the next, to manage exotherm and avoid imperfections. Always follow the product’s specific guidance on maximum pour thickness and curing times.
