What Does ‘Curing Time’ Mean?

Curing time refers to the period needed for epoxy resin to fully harden after application. Unlike simple drying, curing involves a chemical reaction where resin and hardener combine, creating the tough, glossy finish people seek for furniture surfaces. Rushing this process may lead to a tacky or uneven coating, and can compromise the surface’s clarity and mechanical strength.

How Long Should You Wait?

The ideal curing time varies according to the resin type, thickness of your pour, and ambient temperature. For instance, deep pour products such as EpoxyTable 5-Five may require several days to reach full cure, particularly when used for thicker layers of up to 5cm. Thinner coatings made with multipurpose resins like “Trasparente” can set faster, but it’s still best to allow at least 24-48 hours before handling and a full week for complete curing. Tips for Successful Curing
