Why Does Resin Thicken During Storage?

Epoxy resin is sensitive to temperature. Cool or fluctuating conditions often cause the liquid to become more viscous, making it difficult to pour or mix. While this is common, always check that the resin is within its expiry date and has been stored in its original, sealed container before attempting to restore it.

How to Restore Normal Resin Consistency

The easiest and safest way to thin epoxy resin is to gently warm it. Always keep the container tightly closed. Submerge it in a bath of warm (not hot) water and allow it to sit until the resin returns to a more workable state. Stirring may help, but avoid applying direct heat or using a microwave, as excessive heat can damage the resin’s properties.

Use water only marginally warmer than room temperature.
Do not open the bottle until the resin has warmed through.
