How UV Resistance Works in Epoxy Resins

Epoxy casting resins formulated for deep pours, such as those in the EpoxyTable series, include strong UV filters. These filters help reduce the effects of ultraviolet light, which is a common cause of yellowing and haziness in clear resin artworks. While these additives can significantly slow the yellowing process, it’s important to note that all epoxies may show some colour change over many years if exposed to strong light sources.

Choosing and Using a UV-Resistant Resin

For deep castings and projects like river tables or clear sculpture layers, Epoxytable 10-Ten and EpoxyTable 5-Five are designed with enhanced UV protection. These resins are suited for pours up to 10cm and 5cm respectively, combining clarity with reduced risk of yellowing. To maximise longevity, display finished pieces away from direct sunlight where possible, and wipe clean gently with a soft cloth.
