Why Weather Matters for Resin Application
Setting the right climate is vital for resin floors to cure properly. Extreme cold or heat, as well as high humidity, can affect the finish, strength, and durability of your new surface. For best results, aim to install resin flooring when temperatures are steady—ideally between 10°C and 40°C. These conditions help the resin cure uniformly and reduce the risk of imperfections caused by rapid weather shifts or moisture.
Preparing Your Outdoor Surface
Start with a clean, solid base—whether it’s concrete, tarmac, or compacted substrate. Clear away debris, loose stones, or standing water before mixing your resin and aggregate. If rain is forecast, wait for dry conditions, as excess moisture can disrupt adhesion and appearance.
- Check the weather for at least 24 hours of dry, stable temperatures above 10°C.
- Consider applying early in the day. Warmer mornings speed up curing, making your floor walkable in around 12 hours at 20°C, and fully hardened within roughly 48 hours.
