← Back to How to differentiate mould resin?

Selecting the right epoxy resin depends heavily on the thickness of your casting. Getting this step right ensures a successful, clear finish for everything from art pieces to large tabletops.
Epoxy for Thin Castings (Up to 2cm)
For shallow pours and detailed moulds, use an epoxy formulated for clear, thin layers. “Trasparente” is ideal for projects up to 2cm deep. Its clarity suits jewellery, small art castings, and surface coatings where a glossy, bubble-free result is important.
- Mix components slowly to minimise air bubbles
- Pour in a warm, dust-free environment
- Allow time for the resin to self-level and cure fully
Epoxy for Deep Castings (Up to 10cm)
If your piece needs a pour thicker than 2cm, such as river tables or large sculptures, choose a deep-pour formula. “Epoxytable 10-Ten” is designed for depths up to 10cm. It has a slower curing time and reduced heat generation, reducing the risk of cracking or overheating in substantial projects.
- Divide very large projects into multiple layers for best results
- Work in a well-ventilated area and follow the recommended mixing ratio
- Allow each layer to cure before adding the next if exceeding recommended depth
When thickness matters most
Choosing the correct resin by thickness is vital—using a thin-cast resin for deep pours can cause overheating, while deep-cast options in thin layers may cure too slowly or unevenly. Always match the product to your project’s dimensions for optimal clarity and a durable result.
