Mixing Matters: Slow and Thorough
Start by mixing your resin and hardener slowly. Fast, vigorous stirring introduces air, which then becomes trapped in the liquid. Gently fold the components together, scraping the sides and bottom of your mixing container to ensure all the resin is incorporated. Slow mixing helps prevent new bubbles from forming, giving your finished piece a much clearer look.
Pouring Techniques for a Smooth Finish
When pouring your resin into a silicone mould, do so in a steady, thin stream from the same spot. This allows bubbles a better chance to rise to the surface and pop, rather than becoming sealed inside your object.
