← Back to How do you pour self-leveling epoxy resin?

Unexpected flaws in your cured self-levelling epoxy resin project aren’t the end of the world. With a methodical approach, most imperfections can be corrected, restoring clarity and achieving a smooth finish.
Repairing Surface Flaws
Minor issues such as small bubbles, dust inclusions, or superficial scratches can typically be resolved by sanding and recoating. Begin by gently sanding the affected area with fine-grit abrasive paper until the surface is even. Wipe away any residue, then apply a fresh, thin layer of compatible resin, such as ‘Trasparente’ clear epoxy resin for a seamless repair. Allow the new coat to self-level and cure fully.
Fixing Deep Bubbles and Larger Imperfections
Deeper problems, such as large bubbles, sunken pockets, or accidental dents, may require a different approach. These should first be cleaned out and then filled with another pour of your chosen epoxy, taking care to follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for maximum thickness per layer. For example, use a deep pour formula for layers above 2cm. Once filled, allow to cure and then sand or polish if needed.
When This Matters
Knowing how to fix mistakes is essential if you are working on detailed projects like tabletops, jewellery, or art pieces, where clarity and a flawless surface are crucial. Quick fixes can save valuable time and materials, especially on larger or more complex resin crafts.
