← Back to How to polish ELLD resin?

After polishing your ELLD resin project, you want to keep that glossy finish looking its best. Using the right cleaning approach is key to preserving its shine and clarity for longer.
The Best Way to Clean Polished Resin
Resin surfaces, especially after polishing, are sensitive to strong chemicals and abrasion. To maintain your finish, use only mild detergents and a soft, non-scratch cloth. Avoid harsh or abrasive household cleaners, which can dull or scratch the polished layer and undo all your hard work. Simple liquid dish soap mixed with warm water is usually sufficient. Gently wipe the surface, then rinse with clean water and dry with a microfibre cloth to avoid water marks.
What to Avoid: Protecting Your Gloss
Steer clear of products containing bleach, ammonia, scouring agents, or gritty powders. These can erode the polish and leave visible marks or diminish the reflective quality. For stubborn marks, patience and gentle rubbing with a mild detergent are recommended. It is best not to use spray disinfectants or window cleaners on a regular basis, as these may contain alcohol or solvents that compromise the resin’s appearance.
When This Matters Most
Gentle cleaning is especially important for high-gloss resin tabletops, jewellery, or artwork where scratches or cloudiness are immediately visible. If your project will be handled or displayed often, sticking to the right cleaning method keeps it looking pristine for longer. For large resin surfaces, using a dedicated product like the Epoxy Polish can also help rejuvenate shine if needed.
