← Back to How is the resin prepared to coat the tiles?

To achieve a flawless finish when coating tiles with resin, it’s important to pay close attention to the temperature. Working in the right conditions ensures both an even application and optimal curing.
Recommended Temperature Range
Most tile resin products cure best between 18°C and 25°C. Staying within this range allows the resin to level properly, avoids sticky surfaces, and produces a durable coating. If it’s too cold, the resin may not set correctly or could develop a cloudy finish. Excessive heat can cause the resin to cure too quickly, trapping air bubbles or causing uneven texture.

Tips for Best Results
- Always check room and substrate temperature before starting. Both should be in the recommended range.
- Make environmental adjustments if necessary—work indoors in cold weather, or avoid sunny windows and outside walls on hot days.
- Use suitable products such as the “Prolux” polyurethane coating for high-traffic and driveable surfaces, or a multipurpose clear epoxy for decorative tile projects.
When the Right Temperature Matters
Temperature is especially critical for large or detailed surfaces, when using slow-curing resins, and if working outdoors. It’s wise to monitor conditions during the entire curing period, as fluctuations in temperature can impact the final look and strength of the resin coating.
