Why Is Curing Time Important?

Curing is the process where the resin grout hardens and reaches its optimal strength. Allowing the full specified curing time prevents issues such as cracking, surface marking, or impaired resistance to weather and wear. It also ensures your renewed joints stay securely bonded and look their best over time.

Typical Curing Guidelines

• General indoor projects: Most epoxy or polyurethane resin grouts become walkable after about 10 hours, but true hardness and resistance are reached after 24 hours at recommended temperatures (usually above 10°C).
• Outdoor and high-load areas: Allow a full 24 hours, and up to 48 hours during cool or damp weather, to ensure the grout is robust enough to withstand rain, cleaning, or traffic.
• Application tips: Follow the manufacturer’s directions. For example, Transparent epoxy binders cure fully in about 24 hours and can be safely walked on after 10 hours under optimal conditions.

When Proper Curing Matters Most

Resin grout must be undisturbed during curing. This is especially important in external installations, where early exposure to rain or heavy use can compromise the finish. In cooler temperatures, extra time is needed before any cleaning, sealing, or usage.
