Cleaning Your Pebble Floor After Repairs

Once you’ve repaired a loose or damaged pebble floor, it’s important to clean it properly to keep the surface looking fresh and to maintain its permeability and durability over time.

Initial Cleaning After Repairs

After applying new resin or re-setting pebbles, wait until the surface is fully cured before cleaning—typically 24 hours, or as advised by your chosen product. Begin by sweeping away loose debris with a soft broom to avoid scratching or dislodging freshly set stones. For any surface residue, a gentle wash using just warm water and a mild pH-neutral detergent is best.

Routine Care for Pebble Floors

Maintain your pebble floor by sweeping regularly to prevent leaves and dirt from collecting in the gaps. If algae or moss start to form, use a soft brush with soapy water rather than harsh chemicals, which could affect the resin or cause discolouration. Pressure washers should only be used with care and on a low setting, keeping the nozzle at least 30cm from the surface to avoid disturbing the stones or damaging the resin layer.

If you notice dull patches or minor wear, spot clean and consider applying a compatible product like “Trasparente” – Epoxy Binder for Coloured Pebbles and Grits to reinforce those areas.

When Cleaning Really Matters

Proper cleaning becomes especially important after repairs or in high-traffic areas, as dirt and organic material can impede drainage or contribute to premature wear. Consistent maintenance will help preserve both the function and appearance of your newly restored floor.
