What Is Epoxy Putty?
Epoxy putty—often also called epoxy mastic—combines two separate components that are mixed just before use. When combined, they cure into a strong, durable solid. Their thixotropic nature prevents sagging, making application to vertical surfaces easy and precise. Most types are usable for restoration, gluing, or grouting, requiring a mixing ratio as specified by the manufacturer.
How to Apply Epoxy Putty
Start by ensuring the surfaces you plan to bond or fill are clean and dry. Cut or measure small, workable portions and mix thoroughly according to the required ratio—epoxy putties typically use a fixed ratio such as 100:50 by weight. Work the putty into cracks, joints, or gaps, shaping as needed. For best results, maintain an application temperature above 10°C; colder conditions can slow curing. Many putties can be sanded or further finished after they have fully cured, resulting in a seamless repair.
