When to Remove Resin Drips

The best time to tackle resin drips is when the resin has reached a soft, gel-like stage—typically several hours into the curing process, but before it becomes rock hard. At this point, the drips are firm enough to handle but not so brittle that they risk splintering or damaging the surrounding surface.

Test a small drip gently with a gloved finger; it should be tacky but not sticky.

How to Remove Drips Safely

Use a plastic scraper or a sharp craft blade to carefully trim away the soft drips from the underside of the shelf. Start from the edges and work towards the centre for the neatest result. Avoid metal tools, if possible, to prevent accidental gouges or scratches on your finished surface.

If the resin has already hardened, you can gently sand the drips down using fine-grit sandpaper until flush with the underside, followed by a wipe with a damp cloth to clear any residue.
