Full curing—where the resin achieves its planned hardness and resistance—typically occurs after around 7 days at room temperature. Larger or thicker trays may take longer, especially in cool or humid conditions. Always refer to your specific product’s guidelines for precise timings.
Tips for Achieving a Proper Cure
- Choose the right resin: Deep pour resins like “Epoxytable 10-Ten” are suitable for thicker applications like shower trays.
- Maintain ideal conditions: Cure times can be affected by temperature and humidity. Aim for a stable environment (usually around 20–25°C) with low moisture during curing.
- Avoid disturbance: Don’t place weight on or install fixtures onto the tray until the resin is fully cured to prevent deformation or damage.
When Fast or Full Cure Matters Most
Fast handling times are helpful when you need to remove the tray from a mould and move on with installation, but full cure is essential before exposing the tray to water or daily use. Rushing this stage can compromise strength and durability.
