← Back to How to make a resin panel?

Bubbles in resin panels can spoil an otherwise perfect finish. Fortunately, with a few careful steps and the right materials, you can achieve a crystal-clear, professional result.
Preparation: Sealing Your Surface
Unsealed or porous surfaces can trap and release air when resin is poured, leading to unwanted bubbles. For best results, always seal your panel base—such as wood or MDF—with a thin layer of resin or a dedicated sealer. Allow the sealant to dry fully before proceeding with your main pour. Using a quality surface such as an MDF Board Base for Epoxy Resin Table and Art Projects can further minimise the risk of bubbles.
Mixing and Pouring the Resin
Air can become trapped during the mixing process. To reduce this, stir your resin and hardener together slowly and steadily, scraping the sides and bottom of your mixing container. Avoid whisking too vigorously. When pouring, let the mixed resin run gently onto the centre of your panel and allow it to self-level, which helps air escape naturally. Select a resin formulated for smooth pours—such as Art Pro Clear Epoxy Resin for fine coatings or EpoxyTable 5-Five for deeper casts.
Finishing: Removing Surface Bubbles
After pouring, inspect the surface for bubbles. Lightly sweep a heat gun or torch over the resin at a safe distance to encourage trapped air to rise and pop. Avoid holding the heat in one spot, as this can cause the resin to overheat or scorch. Repeat the process as needed during the working time, especially for deeper pours when using products like Trasparente Multipurpose Clear Epoxy Resin up to 2cm thick.
When Bubble-Free Results Matter Most
Achieving a bubble-free resin panel is especially important for art pieces, tabletops, and any project where clarity is key. Taking the time to prepare properly helps showcase embedded objects or pigments for a truly professional look.
