Step 1: Clean the Damaged Area Thoroughly

Begin by gently brushing away dust, dirt, and loose fragments from the broken surfaces using a soft brush. Wipe the area with a damp, lint-free cloth to remove greasy residues. Allow the surfaces to dry completely. Proper cleaning ensures stronger adhesion and prevents future detachment.

Do not use harsh solvents or abrasive materials that could scratch the resin. Always work in a well-ventilated space and handle sharp edges with care to avoid injury. Inspect for any small particles lodged in cracks and remove them before proceeding.

Step 3: Apply Adhesive Precisely

Mix your chosen adhesive according to the manufacturer’s instructions. For standard breaks in resin, use a suitable epoxy glue like “FixExpress” – Two-Component Epoxy Glue 500g, applying a thin layer to one break surface. For very small breaks where clarity and precision are vital, opt for “Klebfix” – Two-Component Fast Epoxy Glue 2K, 25g Syringe.

Use a toothpick or fine spatula for tight spaces, ensuring the adhesive covers the area evenly without excess squeeze-out. Immediately reposition the parts and hold them together gently, avoiding misalignment while the bond forms.

Step 5: Fill, Sand and Finish the Surface

If gaps or chips remain, mix a suitable putty such as CROP 2K Fiberglass Putty – 750 ml + Hardener and use a small spatula to fill cavities or rebuild missing sections. Let the putty cure completely as directed. Once set, sand the area gently with fine-grit sandpaper until smooth and flush with the surrounding surface.

Clean away sanding dust, then apply matching primer or paint for a seamless finish matching the original appearance. For statues to be placed outdoors, select a UV-resistant and weatherproof paint.
