How Air Bubbles Form in Resin

Bubbles often arise when mixing resin and hardener, pouring into moulds, or due to high viscosity. Vigorous stirring, trapped air in intricate mould details, and ambient humidity can all increase the risk of unwanted bubbles surfacing as the resin cures.

Practical Ways to Keep Your Resin Clear

• Mix gently: Stir resin slowly, scraping the sides and bottom of your container to avoid whipping in excess air.
• Use low-viscosity resins: Products like Liquidissima Epoxy Resin are specially formulated to flow easily and help reduce bubble formation.
• Pour in thin layers: Thinner pours allow bubbles to rise and escape before setting.
• Warm your resin: Slightly warming (not overheating) the resin can decrease viscosity, allowing bubbles to break more easily. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
