Binder selection: Polirock or Trasparente?
The ideal binder depends on your choice of pebbles. Polirock is specifically designed for white stones and is formulated to resist yellowing and UV exposure, making it perfect for preserving the clean look of white aggregates. In contrast, if your balcony features coloured or dark stones, Trasparente offers a crystal-clear finish that stays bright and resists discolouration over time. Both provide a robust, durable bond suitable for external balconies and high-traffic areas.
Application and practical tips
For the best results, always mix the binder thoroughly with clean, dry pebbles before laying. The recommended ratio for Polirock is typically 6 to 8 kg of aggregate per 1 kg of binder, though this may vary slightly depending on the pebble size. Trasparente is suitable for layer thicknesses up to 2 cm; exceeding this is not recommended for optimal curing and strength. After mixing, the resin-aggregate blend should be spread evenly and levelled to maintain a consistent and attractive surface.
