Preparing the Model
To create a silicone rubber mold, the first step is to prepare the model on which the mold will be made. Ensure that the model is clean and free of dust or other impurities that could compromise the final result of the mold.
Applying the Sealant
Before pouring the silicone rubber onto the model, it is advisable to apply a thin layer of sealant to prevent material leaks during the casting process. The sealant will help create a barrier between the model and the silicone rubber, ensuring a precise mold.
Preparing and Pouring the Silicone Rubber
Prepare the silicone rubber following the manufacturer's instructions. Make sure to mix it thoroughly to avoid air bubble formation. Pour the silicone rubber onto the model evenly, taking care to completely cover all surfaces to be replicated.
Removing the Mold and Finishing
Once the silicone rubber has completely cured, you can proceed with removing the mold from the model. Gently detach the mold and refine it if necessary by eliminating any imperfections or excess material. The silicone rubber mold is now ready to be used for creating detailed replicas of the original model.
