1 Insect Preparation Process

Before starting the process of embedding insects in resin, it is important to ensure they are clean and dry. If the insects have been previously preserved in alcohol, it is advisable to let them dry for at least 24 hours on absorbent paper. Alternatively, dehydrated insects can be used, or pre-prepared insects for resin inclusion.

2 Resin Preparation

To embed insects in resin, it is necessary to use high-quality clear epoxy resin such as those available on RESINPRO. Follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully to thoroughly mix the resin with the hardener, avoiding the formation of air bubbles. It is recommended to pour the resin into a shallow mold to facilitate the insertion of the insects.

3 Inclusion of Insects in Resin

Once the resin is ready, it's time to place the insects inside. Gently position the insects at the desired point inside the mold using tweezers or a stick for precise placement. Ensure the insects are fully immersed in the resin and that there are no air bubbles around them. Allow the resin to dry for the time indicated by the manufacturer.

4 Finishing and Presentation

Once the resin has completely hardened, it can be removed from the mold and finishing can be done. Trim any excess resin around the insects and smooth the surface with fine sandpaper to make it smooth and glossy.
