Preparing Silicone Rubber

To use silicone rubber for molds, it is essential to carefully follow the manufacturer's instructions. RESINPRO offers a wide range of high-quality silicone rubbers suitable for various needs. Before starting, make sure you have all the necessary tools such as mixing containers, protective gloves, and the silicone rubber itself. Thoroughly mix the silicone rubber with the catalyst according to the recommended proportions to achieve a homogeneous mixture.

Applying Silicone Rubber

Once the mixture is prepared, gently pour it over the object to be molded, making sure to completely cover the surface and avoiding the formation of air bubbles. To ensure greater strength and durability of the mold, it is advisable to apply multiple thin layers of silicone rubber, allowing each application to dry before the next. This process will ensure the solidity of the mold and greater precision in the details.

Waiting and Removing the Mold

After completing the silicone rubber application, it is necessary to wait for the curing time indicated by the manufacturer. Once the necessary time has elapsed, gently remove the mold from the original object. If you encounter difficulty in removal, you can use a lubricant to facilitate the extraction of the mold. Remember to handle the silicone rubber mold with care to avoid damaging the surface.

Using the Silicone Rubber Mold

Once the mold is extracted, you can use it to create faithful reproductions of the original object. RESINPRO offers epoxy resins and other suitable materials for casting in silicone rubber molds. Carefully pour the resin into the mold and let it dry completely. Once hardened, carefully remove the artifact from the mold to achieve a high-quality final result.
