1 Preparation of the Substrate
To start building a resin shower tray, it is essential to prepare the substrate onto which the resin will be poured. Materials such as marine plywood, concrete, or ceramic tiles can be used. Make sure the substrate is perfectly leveled and clean before moving on to the next phase.
2 Application of the Primer Laye
Once the substrate is prepared, it is necessary to apply a primer layer suitable for the resin to be used. The primer enhances the adhesion of the resin to the substrate and increases its durability over time. It is important to carefully follow the manufacturer's instructions for correct application.
3 Pouring and Leveling of the Resin
After applying the primer, it's time to pour the resin onto the prepared substrate. Use a catalyst to ensure the correct solidification of the resin. Using a spatula and a level, evenly distribute the resin on the substrate and level it carefully to avoid deformations or irregularities.
4 Finishing and Maintenance
Once the resin has completely solidified, you can proceed with the finishing phase. Sand the surface with fine sandpaper to achieve a smooth and uniform result. It is advisable to apply a sealing coat to protect the resin from external agents and make it more resistant over time. For proper maintenance, avoid using abrasive products and opt for mild detergents.
