Required Materials
To create a mold using transparent epoxy resin, you will need transparent epoxy resin, catalyst, petroleum jelly, resin colors and pigments, measuring cups, wooden sticks, and the model to replicate. You can find all these high-quality materials on RESINPRO.
Workspace Preparation
Before starting, make sure to work in a well-ventilated area protected with wax paper. Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly on the model to ease its removal from the mold once hardened. Precisely measure the quantity of epoxy resin and catalyst needed for the mold.
Making the Epoxy Resin Mold
Mix the epoxy resin and catalyst following the manufacturer's instructions. Add colors and pigments to customize your mold. Carefully pour the mixture into the mold around the model, ensuring to remove any air bubbles with a wooden stick. Let it cure for the recommended time.
Mold Removal and Finishing
Once the resin is fully cured, gently remove the mold from the model. If needed, refine the edges and any imperfections with fine-grit sandpaper. Your epoxy resin mold is now ready for use.
